Nila rushed to Hanuman's aid, but he too was injured by Ravana's arrows. When Hanuman regained consciousness, he saw Nila battling Ravana. Hanuman felt it inappropriate to attack Ravana while someone else was already engaging him. Nila hurled trees and boulders at Ravana, but Ravana shattered them with his arrows.
Nila then leaped onto Ravana's chariot and broke his flag. He punched Ravana in the face, causing his crown to topple. The other monkeys laughed at Ravana. Ravana then shot a fire arrow at Nila, causing him to fall unconscious.
Ravana then turned his chariot toward Lakshmana, who skillfully neutralized all of Ravana's attacks with his arrows. A fierce spear from Ravana collided with Lakshmana's chest, but Hanuman swiftly intervened, leaping onto Ravana and pounding his chest with powerful fists. Ravana collapsed to his knees, blood gushing from his mouth and ears, and fell unconscious to the ground.
Regaining consciousness, Ravana unleashed a torrent of arrows, decimating the monkey army. Rama, seeing the dire situation, knew he had to stop Ravana. Hanuman approached him and said, "Lord, please climb onto my shoulders and attack this demon."
Rama obliged, climbing onto Hanuman's shoulders. He unleashed a volley of arrows at Ravana, destroying the Demon King's chariot and flag. Rama then quickly shot an arrow that struck Ravana's chest, followed by another that toppled his crown. Humiliated, Ravana began to retreat to Lanka.
"Ravana!" Rama called out. "You have committed wicked deeds, causing the deaths of many great warriors. But you are tired now, so I will not attack you. Go back to Lanka and rest." Thus, Ravana, who had terrorized all three worlds, was momentarily defeated by Lord Rama. The gods in Svarga rejoiced. Feeling the need to demonstrate his strength, Ravana remembered his younger brother, Kumbhakarna, who was deep in slumber.
