Hanuman revealed his true form and prostrated himself at Lord Rama's feet. He informed Rama and Lakshmana that Sugriva resided on Rishyamook Mountain with his monkey friends, seeking refuge from his tyrannical brother, Vali. Hanuman introduced himself as Sugriva's envoy and expressed Sugriva's desire to form an alliance with Rama. Hanuman explained that he could transform into any shape and travel anywhere and that he had arrived in the guise of a Brahmin as per Sugriva's instructions.
"We were searching for Sugriva," Rama told Lakshmana. "But his messenger has already found us. Hanuman appears to be brave and friendly. He is eloquent and knows what to say and when to say it. Lakshmana, converse with him."
Upon hearing Rama's words, Hanuman was ecstatic. He believed Rama could help Sugriva regain his freedom and rescue his wife, Ruma, from Vali. However, the mountainous road to reach Sugriva was impassable. So, Hanuman carried the two brothers on his shoulders and flew toward Sugriva.
"Listen, Sugriva," Hanuman said. This is Prince Rama, accompanied by his younger brother, Lakshmana. Rama is deeply devoted to his late father and leads a religious life. However, his peaceful life was disrupted when a demon kidnapped his wife, Sita. Rama seeks your help and wishes to befriend you and Lakshmana."
Upon hearing Hanuman's words, Sugriva's suspicions about Rama were dispelled. "Everything Hanuman said about you is true," Sugriva told Rama. "You are devout, dignified, brave, courageous, and a friend to all beings. We are incredibly fortunate that you want to befriend us monkeys. Let's take an oath of friendship," Sugriva proposed. Rama and Sugriva then took an oath of friendship and embraced each other.
“I know you cannot bear being separated from Sita for much longer,” Sugriva told Rama. “Wherever she is, I will try to bring her back as soon as possible. You have my word."
