In a city, there once lived a clever dog named Chitrangan. One year, a famine struck the city, and Chitrangan set out for a distant town. In that town, there was no shortage of food at all. Chitrangan lived in the backyard of a house and ate whatever he wished.
One day, some local dogs saw Chitrangan and realized he was an outsider. They began barking loudly and viciously attacked him.
Eventually, Chitrangan escaped from the local dogs but was severely injured.
"I should leave this place," he thought. "There may well be a famine in my city, but at least the dogs there are my friends."
It's better to face hardship among friends than comfort among enemies.
