Vidura's words enraged Duryodhana, who ordered one of his soldiers to bring Draupadi to him. Sensing the soldier's uneasiness, he said, "There is no need to fear the Pandavas anymore. They are now fit only to be put in chains."
The soldier went to Draupadi's room and addressed her, saying, "Prince Duryodhana told me to summon you. Prince Yudhishthira has lost you in the game of dice."
Draupadi boiled with anger. "Ask that vile person what right he had to stake his own wife. Did he lose me or himself first?"
The soldier was frightened by Draupadi's rage. He returned to the assembly hall and conveyed her response to Duryodhana.
"Tell her to come to the hall and say her piece," said Duryodhana.
He then turned to Dushasana. "Go with him, and make sure she comes."
The soldier and Dushasana went to Draupadi's room. "Get out!" yelled Dushasana. "The Pandavas have lost you in the game of dice. Now you are at my mercy."
