A cat found a piece of bread lying on the road. Another cat saw the same piece of bread, and the two began fighting over it. Then, the first cat suggested they break the bread into two halves. That’s when a monkey arrived. The cats requested the monkey to divide the bread into two equal portions.
The monkey was cunning. It divided the bread into two parts and began comparing their sizes. One piece looked a little bigger, so it nibbled a bit off it. Then the other piece seemed bigger, so the monkey chewed a bit off that. In this way, it kept alternately nibbling at the two portions until both were gone, and the poor cats didn’t get to eat anything.
When you let others settle your disputes, you may end up with nothing at all.
