Krishna secretly signalled to Bhima to finish Jarasandha off. Understanding Krishna's signal, he pounced on Jarasandha, picked him up with both hands, spun him around a few times, and slammed him to the ground.
Krishna was pleased to see this. When Bhima glanced at him, Krishna picked up a leaf and tore it. Seeing this, Bhima took the hint and ripped Jarasandha's body into two pieces. Just as Bhima was about to celebrate his victory, the two parts of Jarasandha's body fused together, and Jarasandha rose to his feet.
Bhima could not believe his eyes! He again looked towards Krishna for guidance. Krishna picked up another leaf, tore it, and threw the two parts in opposite directions. Accordingly, Bhima ripped Jarasandha's body apart again and threw the two pieces in opposite directions. This time, the pieces weren't able to reunite.
Bhima yelled with joy at his victory. The spectators were stunned.
Krishna, Bhima, and Arjuna then returned to the palace and, without delay, freed all the imprisoned kings. The kings expressed their gratitude to the three heroes.
