Tenali Rama and the Laddoo

A neighbor had invited Tenali Rama and his wife to dinner. So Tenali asked the emperor for permission to go home a little early. The emperor consented. After Tenali returned home, he and his wife went to the neighbor's house and had a fulfilling meal.

The next day, the emperor asked Tenali, "What did you have for dinner last night?"

"Emperor, we had rice, curry, and ... "

Tenali was interrupted by a messenger who had come to deliver a message to the emperor.
