"Is Hanuman alive?" asked Jambavan. "If Hanuman is alive, there is no need for panic. He will find a way out of this."
Encouraged by Jambavan's words, Hanuman bowed to him. The monkeys and Vibhishana discussed how to revive Lakshmana. Finally, Vibhishana suggested that the royal physician of Lanka, Sushena, could resuscitate him. Hanuman immediately set out and returned with Sushena. After examining Lakshmana, Sushena told Hanuman to fetch four magical herbs from Mount Dronagiri in the Himalayas before daybreak. The herbs were Mruthasanjeevani (restorer of life), Vishalyakarani (remover of arrows), Sandhanakarani (restorer of the skin / bone) and Savarnyakarani (restorer of skin colour).
Hanuman embarked on his journey to find these herbs. Meanwhile, Ravana's spies informed him of the monkey army's plan and Hanuman's mission. Determined to create obstacles, Ravana used his rakshasi powers to hinder Hanuman. On his way to the Himalayas, Hanuman encountered Kalanemi, a formidable rakshasa sent by Ravana. Recognizing Kalanemi's intent to obstruct Lord Rama's mission, Hanuman engaged in battle with the rakshasa. Despite Kalanemi's efforts, he was no match for Hanuman, who ultimately killed him.
Hanuman finally reached Mount Dronagiri, which held the magical herbs. According to the rakshasa doctor’s instructions, the herbs glowed in the dark. But to Hanuman's astonishment, all the herbs on the mountain glowed. Not wanting to waste precious time searching for the magical herbs, Hanuman lifted the entire mountain and carried it to the battlefield!
The rakshasa physician Sushen carefully picked out the magical herbs from the mountain Hanuman had brought. He extracted its juice and made Lakshmana drink it. Lakshmana slowly revived as if awakening from a deep sleep. Rama was overjoyed and hugged his beloved brother, and waves of happiness spread through the monkey army.
