The Blue Jackal

A jackal entered a washerman's house and hid in a drum of blue dye. When he came out, he was completely blue. Upon returning to the jungle, all the other animals who saw him were terrified.

"There is nothing to fear," the jackal reassured them. "God has specially created me and crowned me your king."

From that day on, all the other animals in the jungle accepted him as their king.

One day, while the blue jackal was sitting in his self-proclaimed court, he heard the howls of other jackals. Hearing his comrades, he became excited and began to howl loudly. At once, the other animals realized that their 'king' was nothing but an ordinary jackal. Furious, they drove him out of the jungle.
