The Monkeys and the Bell

A herd of monkeys found a bell in a jungle. Every night, the monkeys listened to its melodious tune. But the villagers were frightened by the sound of the bell. Then, an intelligent woman from the village went to the jungle to discover the truth.

She found that a herd of monkeys was ringing the bell. So she placed some groundnuts and fruits under a tree, then sat down at a distance to watch. The monkeys left the bell and pounced on the food beneath the tree. The woman quickly picked up the bell and returned to the village. The other villagers praised her intelligence.

One should not be perplexed by ordinary matters. Intelligence and courage can help us confront all our worries.
