"How can we ever repay our debt to you?" they asked.
"You can repay your debt by demonstrating your loyalty to Yudhishthira," answered Krishna. "King Yudhishthira is planning to conduct a Rajasuya Yagya. When his army marches forward, do not oppose it. That's all you need to do."
Krishna formally crowned Jarasandha's son, Sahadeva, and declared him king of Magadha. When it was time for Krishna, Bhima, and Arjuna to return to Indraprastha, King Sahadeva gave them lots of expensive gifts.
Upon reaching Indraprastha, the three of them informed Yudhishthira of Jarasandha's defeat. Now, Yudhishthira would be able to conduct the Rajasuya Yagya without any hindrance. Before Krishna left for Dwarka, Yudhishthira presented him with a magnificent chariot.
Before the yagya commenced, some precautions had to be taken. There were a few stubborn kings who could create obstacles. So, it was imperative to defeat them first. A lot of money was also required for the yagya. Sage Vyasa was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the yagya.
Arjuna was sent north to subjugate the kings in that direction, Bhima was sent east, Nakula was sent west, and Sahadeva was sent south. Some of the kings surrendered, and the rest were defeated. The four brothers returned triumphant to Indraprastha, bringing with them many gifts.
The kingdom had grown strong and secure. There had been an increase in livestock, and agriculture and trade were also thriving. There was no drought anywhere, the crops were not failing, and there was neither disease nor crime. Indraprastha had become a prosperous city of noble people.
